Turbo Grifters and Super Colluders. Muon and Lepton on the Polegate Tree. July 2017
Time dilation is a difference of elapsed time between two events as measured by observers either moving relative to each other or differently situated from a gravitational mass or masses and features in the theory of relativity. Time dilation would make it possible for people to space time travel in a fast-moving vehicle into the future while aging very little. Muons and Leptons are subatomic particles in this process, I like the sound of these words. Please repeat them. (They allow us to assume our roles as Turbo Grifters, and Super Colluders. Two personalities characteristics I have been alluded to in 2017.)
Man and Lepton are represented by two main surfboard pieces in the centre of the piece, they hang from the Tree which symbolises Imagination, Intuition and the cycle of Gravity. Death above, rebirth below, again, the Tree being the symbol of historic strength and courage. The trunk of the tree is painted white in the ancient British tradition enabling bark protection. The Polegate Tree itself is a portal and linked with a mystical plane tree in London that William Wordsworth in 1797 wrote a poem about in “Reverie of Poor Susan”…” At the Corner of Wood Street, when daylight hangs a thrush that sings loud, it has sung for three years Poor Susan has passed this post, and has heard in the silence of the morning the song of the bird.”. I have been that Susan, and I twin it with it’s brother Tree in Polegate, in an act of relativity, and gravity , 220 years apart.
Installation piece for MC3 Site Specific exhibition, “ Zero Gravity”.
